Looking Up

I sat on a rock under a tree in the park today.  It had this plaque on it. 

I ate my apple and thought of all the vets that have touched my life.

Some of the bites of my apple were sweet...

others bitter.

Some heartbreaking...some heroic.

But at the core;

veterans, all.

Today I saw the view from where many now lay...

and felt a peace, and a heartache, I can't explain.
