Update

Saw the ortho surgeon today.  Doesn't look like he'll need pins...at least yet.  It's a totally different 'break' than the ER explained.  More like the bones broke loose and shifted on the growth plates? It's a weird one.  He's in a cast....for a good month or so.  But he can pack boxes now :)

Yowsers! I hope it all heals well. This really took me back to when my kids were younger - not that being a mom ever goes away. I had a couple of broken bones and some close calls to deal with. The kids dealt very well - I usually cried after it was all over and they were in casts.

Well, that's good to know, esp. at his age...
But, he might not take well to COLDER weathwer when he's up in his 50s...give him something to "look forward to", eh?

Stay safe out there.

Glad he won't need pins ... hopefully. And good luck with the packing and unpacking.

Hey - hoping that the move went well and your boys arm is on the mend :)

The doc redid the X-rays. He broke a chip off his wrist bone....the little bump on the ulna. He was able to wear a removable cast though, so it's not too bad. He gets it off in another week or 2...
I caught him digging post holes and using it like a hammer when he had the solid cast on. omgosh. kids.
